Khari was a teenage boy whom the investigators saved from being sacrificed near the Mountain of the Black Wind in Kenya and took with them on the boat to China.
Khari was of a tribal descent and only spoke Swahili, but was eager to help with anything to earn his place near the investigators.
The Yithian contacted by Emile Vabreaux during the ritual he conducted on the sea voyage between Mombasa and Hong Kong overtook Khari's body, shifting Khari's own consciousness through space and time into a body of a Yithian.
Yithian “Khari” turned out willing to help the investigators in their quest to stop the Carlysle expedition from opening the Great Gate by providing important, if cryptic, information. He did not deem necessary to hide that his reason for helping to prevent the extinction of humanity is to allow his race to overtake the bodies of Human race in future, as they are one of their primary “backup plans”.
Khari's original consciousness was briefly returned to his body after the Yithian moved on, but the stress was too much and he died soon afterwards.
